Q: What happens after I request a cell line?
A: After your cell line request is confirmed, our Administrative Director ( mnarayan@bu.edu) will initiate an MTA using the information you provided on your Contact Profile. After the MTA is processed, we will contact you to schedule the shipment of your requested cell line(s). An invoice will be issued once the cells have been received.
Q: When will our institution receive the MTA?
A: You can track the status of the MTA approval progress through the iPSC Catalog website under the ‘Orders’ tab. Be sure to fully fill out the Contact Profile page to prevent delays in processing the MTA. After your cell line request is confirmed, your status will be updated to “MTA initiated.”
Q: What if my desired cell line is listed as unavailable?
A: Before adding a cell line to your cart, check to see if the cell line is available. If your desired cell line is unavailable, please feel free to contact mfjames@bu.edu for practical alternative cell line replacements.
Q: When will I receive the cells?
A: After the MTA is processed, we will contact you with an available shipping date. It will be necessary to provide us with an active FedEx account number.
Q: Where can I get more information on proper hiPSC maintenance and cell culture protocols?
A: The CReM has an extensive collection of stem cell protocols on our CReM Protocols page. The CReM iPSC Core works exclusively with undifferentiated cell lines and their specific methods can be found under the subheading “iPS Cell Core SOPs.”
